These 2001 Calexico posters were done as a mirrored-image matched set of color flyers for shows in Boulder and Denver. The promoter for the Bluebird wanted one, and so did Tulagi's. Problem solved! The Tulagi show was done in candy apple red, the Bluebird one in powder blue and primer gray. Calexico put on the the best show I'd seen in a long time. The trumpets were unbelievable, and the sound guy panned the stereo mix throughtout the night. I stayed by the side of the stage listening to the trumpets. Used to hate the Herb Alpert records my folks played, now I love 'em for that mariachi sound. Taped the show for posterity, of course. Calexico is great about that, and other bands could learn a thing or two from them...
