Eliades Ochoa was one of the great old Cuban artists
featured in Ry Cooder's 'Buena Vista Social Club'
movie. Naturally, I had to use a border of Cuban
flags for the poster... The trade and travel embargo
the US continues to maintain with Cuba is a classic
example of bureaucratic political bullshit. The
show Eliades Ochoa and his great band El Cuarteto
Patria put on at the Boulder Theater was ONE good
reason to loosen these restrictions! He played
rolling and expanded length songs that stretched
genre and jam boundaries, with incredible musicianship
and energy. Pretty amazing for an old man! Viva,
Cubanismos! Put that in your pipe and smoke it,
Miami Politicos... |
